Foodies
David Girard Vineyard outside Placerville, CA was the setting for this Tuscan inspired hilltop wedding for Carissa & Mike. Their wedding was held in the middle of winter, but the weather held out and was beautiful and temperate. How many couples get to leave their wedding in such great style… Carissa feels that sometimes Mike loves his Steelers painted Volkswagen bug more than she – NOT! Being a playful couple, their equally playful photographer enjoyed stopping at a variety of fantastic old buildings on the way to the reception. Both are self-proclaimed “foodies,” who love to cook; Carissa is a pastry chef and Mike a great wine aficionado and so they wanted to celebrate their love of food and wine by offering a sumptuous seven course dinner held at Sequoia House Restaurant in Placerville, CA Mike selected wines that would pair with each course. Would you want to be the one washing all those glasses? The talented bride hand-painted the menu cards and favor triangles (which contained black and yellow M&M’s – go Steelers!). Rich wine colors were used throughout the decor with burgundy dahlias, hues of pink anemones and cream hydrangeas. I love the fresh berries and fruit being added to the lovely cake. |
